Charles Towne Investment Management
Charles Towne Investment Management (CTIM) is the investment management arm of Charles Towne Holdings. Similar to a traditional merchant bank, CTIM makes debt and equity investments in middle and lower middle market companies across a wide range of industry sectors, typically in two forms:
Passive Co-Investments- investments made in partnership with an established investor who has a successful track record in the sector and asset class. Our co-investments can range from equity investments in transactions led by a private equity firm or strategic buyer, to highly structured debt investments along-side a highly regarded private credit firm. While these are passive, non-control investments, CTIM may provide strategic support as necessary.
Independent Sponsorship- minority or control equity investments in opportunities where CTIM brings industry and operational expertise. Acting as an independent private equity sponsor, CTIM takes the lead in pricing, structuring and oversight of these investments and secures investment capital as needed. With this approach, CTIM is able to tailor creative capital solutions unconstrained by a specific investment mandate and deliver strategic support to help drive investment outcomes.
Transaction types include growth capital, buyouts, dividend recapitalizations, strategic acquisitions and corporate divestitures. Depending on the strategic fit, CTIM will consider investing in a wide range of sectors as well as stage of the company. Investment sizes range from $1mm to $10mm.
